Our ecology team took a morning out to help the Rushmoor Estate with a research project to look at the impacts of woodland management on bat diversity. It was not only great to help out with an interesting project but good training for the team to look at different features on trees which can support roosting bats.

Trees provide important roosting resources for local bat populations with smaller trees with relatively minor looking features leading into perfect cavities which can be easily overlooked.

Thanks to Jon Hayter for giving us the chance to help out and provide valuable experience to inform our initial assessments. We will use this training to assist with the design of mitigation schemes within developments to maximise roosting opportunities for bats and design pragmatic solutions for clients.

Please get in touch if your project requires ecological surveys and design.
