The Treloar Trust is a Registered Charity that was founded in 1906 by Sir William Purdie Treloar, Lord Mayor of London.
The Trust currently operates 2 sites: Treloar College, in Holybourne near Alton, which is an independent specialist Further Education College for young people aged 16 – 25 with physical disabilities and/or learning difficulties; and Treloar School in Upper Froyle which is a non-maintained Special School for disabled children from ages 7 to 16.
Pro Vision was instructed to project manage a planning application submission for the relocation of the activities from the School to an extension of the College. Liaising with the project architects, and other consultants, we successfully achieved outline permission for the erection of approximately 4100 sq.m of additional educational facilities, and a further 1800sq.m of student accommodation, together with other ancillary plant and equipment.
The scheme also required the extension of the College site by approximately 2.3ha onto existing countryside and Local Gap land. All the buildings are fully wheelchair accessible, and the new buildings will enable the Trust to operate more efficiently for all their students from one site within their existing landholding.
