This site was a former golf course on the outskirts of Lydney in Gloucestershire. We promoted the site through the emerging Local Plan and managed to get it allocated for development.

The site was part allocated for 450 residential units and 4 hectares of employment. We made a case to the Local Authority to allocate the whole site for residential, while decanting the employment allocation onto an adjacent existing redundant industrial site owned by the client. We subsequently successfully achieved outline permission and reserved matters consent on part of the land for 200 houses.

The scheme looked to provide significant environmental benefits including:

  • Removal of a redundant existing industrial factory and related site remediation
  • Provision of Public Open Space
  • A balanced community with opportunities for employment
  • A range of open market and affordable homes and dwelling sizes likely to include 1 and 2 bed apartments, and 2,3 and 4 bed houses that offer a choice within the housing market
  • A high quality of life by creating an attractive living environment
